BECKSTRAND CANCER FOUNDATION RAISES MORE THAN $1 MILLION AT 2007 DIAMOND & PEARL BALL
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (October 15, 2007) – Beckstrand Cancer Foundation announced today that it exceeded its goal and raised more than $1 million dollars at its 4th Annual Diamond & Pearl Ball, “An Evening in the Orient,” fund-raiser, held at the Balboa Bay Club & Resort in Newport Beach on Saturday, Oct. 13. The gala celebrated the life of Tom Riach, a prominent area resident. Its 448 guests helped raise funds which will be used to improve and enhance the quality of life of Orange County- and Los Angeles-based cancer patients and their families.
“Every year, we are amazed at the overwhelming generosity of our supporters,” said Lil Spitzer, Executive Director of Beckstrand Cancer Foundation. “This year is no exception. In fact, the goal-breaking success of this year’s fund-raiser will allow the Foundation to increase its level of support to so many cancer patients in need. And through the help of our presenting sponsors, Neiman Marcus Fashion Island and Van Cleef & Arpels at Neiman Marcus, we are pleased to be able to continue that mission.”
