BECKSTRAND CANCER FOUNDATION INTRODUCES NEW HOLIDAY CARDS FEATURING FESTIVE ARTWORK FROM PEDIATRIC CANCER PATIENTS
Proceeds from Card Sale will Benefit Beckstrand’s Art Therapy Program for Children
NEWPORT BEACH, California (November 4, 2009) – Beckstrand Cancer Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to improving and enhancing quality of life for cancer patients and their families, today began pre-sale of a new line of holiday cards. Available in variety packs of 20, the sets feature four playful holiday scenes designed by pediatric cancer patients participating in the Foundation’s Art Therapy Program. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale of the cards will be used to further support Beckstrand’s Art Therapy Program.
“We are delighted to introduce these very special holiday cards because they represent the kids we support and highlight their talent and creativity,” shared Lil Spitzer, Executive Director of Beckstrand Cancer Foundation. “We had so many entries for our Holiday Card coloring contest, and we loved them all, but I think that people will find something magical about the four winning designs. We’re so pleased to make them available for purchase.”
This year’s Holiday Card coloring contest winners include Karina S., 8; Andrew R., 9; Brian G., 8; and Steve G., 15. Five cards of each design will make up the 20 card packs. Karina is from Lakewood and her marker and crayon design is titled, “Merry Christmas.” She is currently receiving treatment for Wilms’ Tumor. Andrew is from San Pedro and he created a scene with crayon titled, “Candy Cane Lane.” He is receiving treatment for Leukemia. Brian resides in Carson and his watercolor design is called, “Blue Christmas.” He is undergoing treatment for Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. Steve, from Bell, used markers to draw his “Rooftop Santa” design. He is currently being treated for Ewing’s Sarcoma.
When folded, the cards measure 5.25” x 8” and fit into A8 envelopes included in each package. A single inscription used for each card reads, “May the Holiday Season fill Your Home with You’re your Heart with Love and Your Life with Laughter.” Printing for the limited-run cards has been generously donated by UBS Printing, and order will be processed on a first come-first served basis.
