Celebrated Actors will join Designer Oday Shakar at Black-tie Event to Benefit Cancer Patients

NEWPORT BEACH, California (July 27, 2010) – Beckstrand Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to improving quality of life for cancer patients and their families, today proudly announced its special guests for The Diamond & Pearl Ball 2010 will include celebrity actors Eva La Rue, Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin. They will also be joined by fashion designer Oday Shakar. The Diamond & Pearl Ball 2010 will take place on Oct. 16, 2010 at The Balboa Bay Club & Resort in Newport Beach, California.

Three-time cancer survivor and former All Pro NFL Center, Rich Saul, will be recognized as the evening’s honoree at the Havana-themed event chaired by community philanthropist, Renetta Caya, which will also include authentic Cuban décor and entertainment, boutique wine, food by legendary Chef Grant MacPherson, and live and silent auctions.

Lugano Diamonds, renowned for continually scouring the globe in search of exotic and rare gems and serving as a resource for such finds, will be the event’s official Jewelry Sponsor. Earlier this year, the company acquired a rare 60-carat raw diamond that was cut and polished into a gem weighing 30.08 carats. The conflict-free, round cut diamond will be on display for gala guests in its platinum setting, designed by the company’s Owner and President Moti Ferder.

All proceeds from the gala will be used to provide cancer patients with financial assistance, patient advocacy, supportive counseling and practical help.
