Bequests
One of the easiest ways to make a gift to the Foundation is by leaving Beckstrand Cancer Foundation a bequest in your Will. There are several ways you can do this. You can (1) give a specific amount of money to the Foundation; (2) give a specific item of property to the Foundation; or (3) give a specified percentage of the residue of your estate to the Foundation (the residue of your estate is that which is left over after all specific gifts have been made, whether charitable or non-charitable).
Charitable Remainder Trusts
This gift places an amount of principal in an irrevocable trust, with interest payments to the donor throughout his/her lifetime. At the end of the terms of the trust, Beckstrand Cancer Foundation can use these funds. The potential savings in taxes and the lifetime income generated make this a very attractive option in making a gift that truly impacts the Foundation’s efforts for cancer patients.
Gift Annuity
This gift allows the donor to transfer an asset (cash, stock, real estate) in return for lifetime income from Beckstrand Cancer Foundation. There are a variety of financial benefits for the donor, including savings on estate, income and capital gains taxes, and a tax-relieved lifetime income.
Life Insurance
You can name Beckstrand Cancer Foundation (BCF) as a beneficiary or partial beneficiary of a life insurance policy. A gift of a paid-up policy, naming BCF as owner and beneficiary entitles you to a tax deduction equal to your cost basis in the policy or its replacement cost, whichever is less.
